link rel=”canonical” is a useful code for SEO. The same content can be reached by search engines with two different link structures, allowing the spiders to specify which link to base theirs rel canonical tag.
For example, if we have 2 different links reaching the same category page.
Imagine that these two links have the same the content, and we only have to make 2 links because of a need and we want to show just one link.
Search engines hate copied pages or contents. If we really want to base our links on search engines for the content /seo/, we need to add a rel canonical tag between the meta tags on the link as shown below. (to make code work, delete gaps before > and after <)
